Youtubers...

Successful or frauds? It seems to be that the world is split between those who believe the typical vloggers are worth the fame and the ones who believe they aren't. Me; a 16 year old, single, teenager, loves to delve my life into others to feel as if I am somehow living, even if it is through 20 year olds who live on the other side of the world. But then again do people who vlog their life deserve millions of supporters?

When I found out about the 'zoella ghostwriter scandal' I was, well frankly put it, not surprised. Although anger did well up inside me as I see Zoe as a friend I've never met, whom I have invested my trust in and that was snapped in two. I spent money on a product that was promoted as one thing but actually is another. I will continue to support Zoe and the hate she has received is unnecessarily cruel. Although the false branding of her novel as her own was a misuse of trust to her fans and displayed zoella as a brand more than a friend. Lets keep in mind though that this could all just be a huge mix up and Zoe did in fact write the book. I hope that's the case anyway.

All the book deals, merch and products being created, did at first put me off. When Danisnotonfire and Amazingphil first started their radio show, it was as if i was watching them slip away into real life. That may sound crazy but none the less its true. I was one of these people who thought 'hey you're a youtuber, get back to where you belong'. I'm sure some of you are silently hating me for that but aye thats just me. Now i have began to realize that their career isn't exclusive to YouTube. YouTube was just the start of their career, the building block almost, everything else is them growing to become successful. So go write your books, go sell those candles, let them do whatever they want to do to be happy.  

I can see the reasons as to why people may see vloggers as unworthy of their net worth and fame, but when i look deeper into it i realize they are just businessmen and women who are doing really well for themselves. After all, not all vloggers become as full blown and worldwide as Tanya Burr, Tyler Oakley and Troye Sivan ect. For those who believe they are talent less, i'd like to see you get millions of subscribers. Not as easy as it seems eh? Their lovable charm and friendly nature stretches way beyond the computer screen, and although many people will disagree with me, i think they deserve it. Yes, i still do agree that some may be overrated and talking to a computer screen is nothing that should allow you to have fans screaming to you on the street but after all i cant see myself managing to becoming that famous just by being... well myself. Let's not forget either, that its not themselves who make them famous, its us, ordinary people. Can you really blame them for other people enjoying their videos? I say if they manage to gain 6,000,000 fans then good on them.
